McCoy Supports Liter of Light to Drive Climate Action and Resilience
At McCoy, we believe innovation should create meaningful impact beyond business. This year, we proudly partnered with Liter of Light, a global grassroots movement that brings clean, affordable solar lighting to underserved communities — one hand-built light at a time.
Born in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan, Liter of Light began with a simple yet transformative idea: to build solar lights using locally available materials. What started as a disaster-response solution has since grown into a global movement spanning over 32 countries. Each light installed helps reduce more than 1,000 kilograms of carbon emissions while equipping communities with green skills and renewable energy knowledge that foster long-term energy independence. More than illumination, each solar light represents safety, opportunity, and resilience. Families gain reliable lighting without the high cost or environmental impact of traditional energy sources. Students can study at night, small businesses can extend their operating hours, and communities can become less dependent on unstable power grids.

This initiative supports the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

McCoy’s involvement goes beyond partnership. In the August–September cycle, our volunteers will actively participate in light-building activities and support a donation drive to help bring sustainable solar solutions to more families in need. By taking part in the hands-on creation process, we contribute not just resources, but time, effort, and shared purpose.
Through this collaboration, McCoy reinforces its commitment to sustainability, responsible innovation, and community empowerment — helping turn small acts of action into lasting sources of light and hope.
